Tax on chopsticks

Every year in China for food is used about 45 billion disposable chopsticks. Disposable chopsticks used up 1.3 million cubic metres of timber each year, depleting the country’s forests, the ministry said.
For this reason, the government decided to introduce a special 5% tax when buying disposable bamboo chopsticks. This is done to ensure that the population is more likely used reusable chopsticks, made of plastic.
But the local population is more tradition than savings. Therefore, in their hands reusable plastic sticks you will not see.
